MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A boat carrying King Felix III and his court docked at the Mobile Convention Center instead Cooper?s Riverside Park around 11 a.m. Monday morning.?
The dock site was changed because of the rain, which forced the ladies of the court and others to seek shelter under the Convention Center parking lot to await the King?s arrival.
Once docked, Mobile Mayor Sam Jones was welcomed on board for a brief presentation, and to present King Felix with the key to the city.
Floats were moved into place earlier on Government Street for the Floral Parade which follows the Kings arrival at noon.? The parade had to take an alternate route and turn back to the Civic Center at Government and Claiborne Streets.
